H. Dean Bartlett

CHARLOTTE– H. Dean Bartlett, age 58, of Charlotte died Saturday, September 8, 2018. Dean was born July 23, 1960 in Buncombe County and was a resident of Charlotte since 1991. He was a graduate of T.C. Roberson High School and UNC Asheville. Dean was employed with Verizon Wireless in Charlotte. He collected classic model cars, loved old movies, history, architecture and traveling. When able, he also loved flower gardening. He was the son of Harold Bartlett of Asheville and the late Doris Holcombe Bartlett. In addition to his father he is survived by his domestic partner of 25 years, J.W. Johnston of Charlotte along with numerous other family members. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 16, 2018 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with his uncle, Dewey H. Bartlett officiating. Burial will be in Vance Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., Sunday prior to the funeral service. Flowers are welcome.
