BARNARDSVILLE
H. Dale Maynor, age 72, of 358 Stoney Fork Road, passed away Thursday Jan.10, 2008.
Dale was born March 12, 1935 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He was a retired Tech. Sergeant serving in the U.S. Air Force and a former employee with Bowman Transportation, and N.C. Department of Corrections. He was the son of the late Arnold O. and Flora Webb Maynor he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Granville and Elmer Maynor and sister, Pauline McCall.
Surviving is his wife of 34 years, Sandra Kay Patton Maynor; daughters, Denise Miller of La Jolla, Calif. and Dawn Lewis of Griffin, Ga.; sons, Edward Maynor of Asheville, John Maynor of Weaverville; Rocky, Arnold and Jacob Maynor of Barnardsville; sisters, Dorothy Gail Sonderegger of Weaverville and Marlene Brown of Waxhaw; granddaughters, Tess and Carissa Miller; grandsons, Jonathan and Justin Mayfield, Dakota Maynor and William Lewis.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with the Rev.'s Brad Willis and Jerry Webb officiating and memories from nephew, Patrick Brown. Burial will be in the Veterans section of West Memorial Park with Military Rites conducted by Mars Hill V.F.W. Post #5483.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
At other times the family will be at the residence.
