HARMIE HONEYCUTT ALEXANDER - Harmie Honeycutt, age 98, of Flint Hill Road, died Saturday, February 8, 2014. Mrs. Honeycutt was born December 31, 1915, in Yancey County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She retired from Vanderbilt Shirt Co. and was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Wade and Celia Briggs Williams and wife of the late Lee Honeycutt who died in 1954. Surviving are her daughter, Betty Bullman; grandson, Robert Honeycutt of the home; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2014 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Wesley Pike, Rev. Larry Sprouse, and Rev. Mark Bullman officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome or a memorial contribution may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
