HAROLD DEAN ANDERSON
HOT SPRINGS - Harold Dean Anderson passed away Thursday evening, July 2nd, 2015, at the age of 87.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anderson Sr., his beloved wife, Virginia Huff Anderson, son-in-law, Ronald Phillip Goldstein, and five siblings.
Harold is survived by Deana Anderson Goldstein and granddaughter, Macy Catherine Goldstein, Amy Anderson Eisen and husband Andrew Eisen and grandchildren, Allison Eisen, Aryn Eisen, and Adam Eisen, Brian Reese and grandson, Sammy Reese, and brother, Don Anderson.
Born in Spring Creek in 1928, Harold made a positive impact on those throughout Madison County. After his studies at Warren Wilson College, Harold joined the United States Navy and celebrated America's victory in World War II. Upon returning to Hot Springs, Harold married the love of his life, Virginia Huff Anderson, who shared his commitment to serving the people of Madison County. As the youngest postmaster in the county's history, Harold touched the lives of the many citizens to whom he delivered the mail for many years. As the owner and operator of the Alpine Court and Restaurant, Harold welcomed guests from around the world, each of whom left with special memories of him and Hot Springs. Harold further served his community as Alderman for the town of Hot Springs, chairman of Madison County Social Services, a volunteer firefighter, and devoted member of the Presbyterian Church. Harold also had the honor of being commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by the governor of Kentucky in 1997. While his work within the community was important to Harold his true devotion in life was to his family, and his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren.
His graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 6, 2015 in Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hot Springs.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5th at Alpine Court, 50 Bridge Street, Hot Springs 28743.
