WEAVERVILLE—James Herschel Wyatt, age 90, of 14 Lakeshore Drive, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009. Herschel was born October 28, 1918, in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County most of his life. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. Herschel was a member of First Baptist Church, Weaverville. His parents, Reuben and Italy Cody Wyatt, as well as his wife Doris Kerby Wyatt who died in 2001, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his daughters, Beverly "Beaver" Wyatt of Black Mountain and Kathy Price and husband Paul of Weaverville; son, J. Nathan Wyatt and wife Barbara of Ooltewah, TN; three grandchildren, Kerby and Savannah Price, and James L. Wyatt; special friends, Gail and Amy West; sister, Ruby Ramsey and husband Ed; brothers, Auburn Wyatt and wife Zula, and Donald Wyatt and wife Charlotte, as well as many other friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2009, at First Baptist Church, Weaverville, with Rev. Jim McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, where the body will remain until one hour prior to the services.
