Hesley Harwood

BARNARDSVILLE– Hesley Harwood, Jr., age 69, of 378 Haw Branch Road, joined his wife in heaven Sunday, April 8, 2018. Hesley was born March 31, 1949 in Buncombe County to the late Hesley and Ruth Ballew Harwood; he was a resident of Buncombe County all of his life. Hesley was a long time employee of and retired from Ball Manufacturing. He loved his family. He is also, preceded in death by his wife, Irma Jo Bradley Harwood, who died in 2015. Surviving are his sons, Nickey Harwood and Tommy Harwood and wife, Kathy all of Barnardsville; daughter, Lisa Buckner and fiancé Travis Embler of Mars Hill; brothers, Gerald and Randy Harwood both of Barnardsville; sister, Wilma Anderson; grandchildren, Matthew Harwood, Karen Penland, Amy Silver, Ashley Craine and husband Junior, Brandon Buckner and wife Kasey, and ten great grandchildren. His graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 in Harwood Cemetery, Barnardsville. Rev. Barry Jenkins will officiate. The family will receive friends, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, NC 28787. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
