Hilda Marie Fox

MARS HILL – Hilda Marie Fox, 97, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the Mars Hill Retirement Center.

Hilda was born in Bath, NY, on May 18, 1926. She was preceded in death by her husband, David H. Fox, who passed away in 2001; and two brothers, Sterling M. Van Housen and Walter A. Van Housen.

Hilda was an avid bridge player and a member of the Asheville Bridge Club. 

She is survived by her daughter, Christine A. Fiordalis of McMinnville, OR; two sons, Robert E. Fox of Honolulu, HI and Richard D. Fox and his wife, Jana, of Mars Hill, NC. Hilda is also survived by a grandson, David V. Firodalis and his wife, Jill, and their children, Leela and Nima, of McMinnville, OR; and a number of nieces and nephews in New York state.

A gathering of friends will be held from 2:30pm to 3:30pm on Saturday, May 18, 2024, which would have been Hilda’s 98^th birthday, at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville.
