HILDEGARD MARIA SWARTZ ASHEVILLE - Hildegard Maria Swartz, age 88, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Mrs. Swartz was born May 13, 1926 in Stuttgart, Germany to the late Johann and Josefa Brünnold Bäurle. She worked for Standard Furniture Company in Herkimer, NY as chief bookkeeper retiring in 1969. She liked to read and travel. Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Robert Swartz; daughter, Rebecca Swartz and partner Laura Brightwood; grandson, Griffin Roupe; granddaughters, Tessa Roupe and Sydney Brightwood; brother, Karl Bäurle of Marl, Germany; sister, Hannelore Mueller of East Greenbush, NY; sister in law, Lynne Swartz of Middleville, NY; nieces, Tracey Annable of Cincinnati, OH, Christine Schneider of Siegen, Germany, Christl Mueller-Hussey of NY, Gabriele Braun of Germany and Sybille Rose of Germany; nephews, Todd Swartz of CA and Rüediger Bäurle of Germany. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2014, in St. Eugene Catholic Church, 72 Culvern Street, with Father Pat Cahill officiating. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Eugene Building Fund, 72 Culvern St., Asheville, NC 28804 or Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, P.O.
