HOWELL PEGG, SR. ASHEVILLE - Howell Pegg, Sr., age 78 of Asheville died Thursday, July 23, 2015 at John F. Keever Solace Center. Mr. Pegg was born September 16, 1936 in Buncombe County where he had lived for most of his life. He was retired from Brad Ragan Tire and Appliance after 17 years of service and was recognized as a member of the Presidents Club. Mr. Pegg was a son of the late Pretzul C. and Fannie Higgins Pegg and was also preceded in death by sister, Carolyn Horne and brother, William Melvin Pegg. Surviving are his daughters, Donna P. Taft and husband Michael, Mary Whitlock and husband Steve; son, Howell Pegg, Jr. and wife Diana; the mother of his children, Iva Shepherd Pegg; grandchildren, Casey Taft, Brian Pegg, and Michael Pegg. His funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2015, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Ricky Wolfe officiating. Burial will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2015 in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 4:00 to 5:30 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome.
