Hoy \ Payne

WEAVERVILLE—Hoy "Dale" Payne, age 73 of KyFields died Friday, September 28, 2012. Mr. Payne was born March 7, 1939 in Madison County and was a resident of North Augusta, SC for most of his life and a resident of Weaverville since 2000. He retired from Overnite Transportation as office manager. Mr. Payne served in the U.S. Navy and loved to square dance and travel. He was the son of the late Robert R. and Belle Lunsford Payne. Also preceding him in death were his sister, Alma Lee Taft; brother, Bob Payne and mother of his children, Mary Lou Payne. Surviving are his wife Janice Stiles-Payne of the home; sons, John Dale Payne and wife Rebecca Trump of Brooklyn, NY and Jim "Travis" Payne and wife Rebecca Payne of Hillsborough, NC; step-daughters, Latisha Stiles of Williamsburg, VA and Jennifer Stiles-Costantinou of Weaverville; step-son, Jerry Stiles, Jr. and wife Kelly Stiles of Streator, IL; sister, Ruby Davis of Canton; brother Grover Payne and wife Margaret of Clyde; ten grandchildren and his special dog, Snowball. His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with Rev. Dedrick Clark officiating. Burial will be in the Veteran's Section of West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Monday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the residence.
