IDELL LORRAINE BANKS YOUNT
BARNARDSVILLE - Idell Lorraine Banks Yount, age 96, of 8 Spice Cove Drive, Barnardsville died Friday, December 12, 2014.
Mrs. Yount was born May 31, 1918 in Buncombe County and was the sixth child of ten to the late William A. and Effie Dillingham Banks. She worked at American Enka for 32 years and was a member of Dillingham Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Yount was preceded in death by her husband John Henry Yount who died in 1997; brothers, Ambrose, Lee, Donald and Wayne Banks; sisters, Alma B. Hunter, Pauline B. Yount, Letha B. Hollingsworth and Wilma B. Brown.
Surviving are her daughters, Peggy Carson and husband Clarence, Mary Whitson and husband Michael "Tony" and Nancy Lunsford all of Barnardsville; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and brother, Reece Banks and wife Betty of Barnardsville.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 15, 2014, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Skip Gillikin officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park with Kyle Roberts, David Freeman, Curtis Banks, Grady Rogers, Justin and Jared Dillingham serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
