Inez Edith McPeters Fox

LEICESTER – Inez Edith McPeters Fox, age 82, of 2217 Bear Creek Road, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Mrs. Fox was born August 24, 1935 in Yancey County to the late Alvin W. and Myra Faye Ray McPeters. Inez was a former Powder Puff Racing champion of Oklahoma and Texas in 1963. She was a gardener, carpenter and a faithful praying mother who worked hard in all she did. Inez retired as a supervisor at a local textile company. She loved her Lord and family. A member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church for at least 45 years she served as a Sunday school teacher and Vacation Bible School teacher. Also preceding her in death was her husband, James “JG” Garrett Fox, who died in 2012. Surviving are her daughter, Corean Fox Wagner; sons, Gary Fox and wife Lynn, Dwayne Fox and wife Helga, Wayne Fox and wife Debra, and Steven Fox and wife Sheila; sisters, Marie Davis, Christine McGalliard and husband Arvil, Juanita Nash and husband Buddy, Patsy Cook and husband Raymond, and Dana Gentry and husband Jim; brother, Roy McPeters and wife Teresa; ten grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren with one more on the way. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday May 12, 2018 in Turkey Creek Baptist Church, 2206 Bear Creek Road, Leicester, NC 28748. Reverends Mark Caldwell and Roy McPeters will officiate. Burial will follow in Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the church. Flowers are welcome and appreciated.
