FAIRVIEW – Irene Wooten Luther, age 84, of Fairview entered the gates of Heaven and into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Fleshers Fairview Health Care Center. Mrs. Luther was born on June 16, 1940, in Buncombe County where she lived all of her life. She worked at C.I.I. in Fairview until her retirement in 2002 and was a member of Broad River Baptist Church.
Mrs. Luther was faithful in reading her Bible every day. She loved the Lord, her family, and tending to her flowers in the garden. She enjoyed being outdoors and loved all pets, especially her dogs.
Loved ones greeting her in Heaven are her parents, Lloyd and Martha Lindsey Wooten; her husband, Jim Luther who died in 2019; her sister, Alma Hare and husband Arnold; sisters-in-law, Jean Wooten, Mildred Collette, and Ann Luther; and brothers-in-law, Dan Howard, Johnny Luther and wife Buddy, and Burnice Luther and wife Betty.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, sons, Mike Luther and wife Vicki, and Richard Luther; her daughters, Angie Williams and husband Joe, and Donna Luther; sister, Melba Howard; brothers, Bill Wooten, Harry Wooten and wife Sandra; sister-in-law, Cora Jane Gillespie and husband Conley; brother-in-law, David Luther; five grandchildren, Brandy Dotson and husband Eric, Toni Williams, Morgan Luther, Kasey Luther and Gerri Luther; and five great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Eli, Kalei, Kaydence, and Bella.
A graveside service will be scheduled at a later date at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory where Mrs. Luther will be laid to rest with her husband.
