IRMA JO BRADLEY HARWOOD BARNARDSVILLE – Irma Jo Bradley Harwood, age 64, of 378 Haw Branch Road died Thursday, December 24, 2015 due to a battle with Leukemia. Irma was born June 29, 1951 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She was a long time employee of A-B Emblem. She loved the Lord, her family and the spirit of Christmas more than anything. She will get to celebrate Christmas with the Lord on HIS Birthday! She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Juanita Mundy Bradley. She was also preceded in death by brothers, David and Harold Bradley; and sister, Sharon Boone. Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Hesley Harwood, Jr.; sons, Nickey Harwood of the home, and Tommy and wife Kathy of Barnardsville; daughter, Lisa Harding and husband V.L. of Weaverville; sisters, Jeannie and Gail Bradley of VA, and Christine Camper of TN; grandchildren, Matthew Harwood, Karen Hall and husband Jonathan, Amy Silver and husband Seth, Ashley Metcalf and fiancé Dale Rice, and Brandon Buckner and wife Kasey; and 9 great grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2015, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Reverend Barry Jenkins will officiate. Burial will be in Harwood Cemetery, Barnardsville. The family will receive friends 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home, where Mrs. Harwood will be taken on Saturday, and remain until Sunday.
