IVA NELL JONES PARHAM LEICESTER – Iva Nell Jones Parham, age 71, of Leicester died Tuesday, January 17, 2017. Mrs. Parham was born April 11, 1945 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She was an insurance agent for over 45 years, representing several insurance companies. Iva Nell was preceded in death by her parents, James C. and Willie James Burnette Jones. Surviving are her husband of 44 years Herman Parham; daughter, Jennifer Parham Duncan and husband Bill; son, Brian Parham; sister, Joanne Hendrix and husband Eddie; brothers, Edwin Jones, Richard Jones and wife Vera; sister-in-law, Lynda Jones; several nieces and nephews including Teresa Tennant, who was always like a second daughter to Iva Nell. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2017, in Alexander Baptist Church, of which she was a member. Reverend Gerald Sprinkle will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to the services.
