WEAVERVILLE– J.B. Fox, age 74, of 124 Upper Flat Creek Road, died Friday, February 15, 2008. Mr. Fox was born December 11, 1933 in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of his life. He was retired from Ward Construction. J.B. was a member and deacon of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was the son of the late Clarence Hilliard and Loneasy Bishop Fox. J.B. was also preceded in death by sisters, Pauline Reid and Lucille Fox; brothers, Joe Fox and Hilliard Fox. Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Barbara Robinson Fox; daughters, Audrey Cox and husband Blaine of Candler and Karen Hart McMinn and husband Bob of Weaverville; four sisters, Irma Guthrie and Aline Allman both of Weaverville, Velma Freeman of Marshall and Diana Hyder of Charleston, S.C.; three grandchildren, Kelly Cox, Jon Cox and Lauren Hart; great grandson, Eli Cox and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Phillip Parker officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to the services. At other times the family will be at the residence. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
