J.T. Thomas

GREENEVILLE, TN/ALEXANDER – J.T. Thomas, age 37, of Greeneville, TN formerly of Alexander, NC died Thursday August 9, 2018. J.T. was born April 16, 1981 in Buncombe County where he lived for most of his life. He was a well-established horse trainer at a national and world level. His smile and personality were infectious. J.T. loved to fish and was a talented musician. He was a member of Blazin’ Trails Cowboy Church. Surviving are his wife of 10 years, Christa Tweed Thomas; mother, Sylvia Graham; father, Sidney Thomas; grandmothers, Nila Hudson and Lela Thomas; special mom, Shelby Ferguson, also known as “BB”; several aunts and uncles; special friends Harvey, who got him through a lot of hard times, Darrell Wilson and Goose Ballard. His memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2018 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville. Reverends Clark Henderson and Harvey Gates will officiate.
