WEAVERVILLE– Jack Roberson, age 85, of 297 Reems Creek Road, died Friday, March 15, 2013.
Jack was born April 29, 1927 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He was a member of Newbridge Baptist Church and a former member of the Lions Club. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. Jack was co-owner of Farm Equipment Company for 60 years. He enjoyed his cattle, hunting and fishing and was the owner of Reems Creek Polled Herefords. Jack was a son of the late G.L. and Reva Buckner Roberson. He was also preceded in death by his wife Betty Henline Roberson who died in 2012; his son Wayne J. Roberson and a brother Ged Roberson.
Surviving are his son, Russ Roberson and wife Cynthia of Weaverville; grandchildren, Alex and Emilee Roberson of Weaverville; daughter-in-law, Betty Ann Roberson of Weaverville and her son, Rick Chapman and his wife Tempe along with their children McKenzie and Jackson of Raleigh and brother, Hugh Roberson of Woodfin.
His graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013 in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Clark Henderson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at West Funeral Home.
At other times, the family will be at the home of Russ and Cynthia Roberson, 294 Reems Creek Road, Weaverville.
The family would like to thank Erin, Vicky, Pat, Lisa and Joyce from Home Instead for their care of Jack over the past few months.
