JACQUELINE ANN PHELPS BLAND MARS HILL – Jacqueline Ann Phelps Bland, age 85, of Mars Hill died Monday, December 21, 2015. Mrs. Bland was born April 10, 1930 in Newport News, VA and was a resident of Williamsburg, VA for most of her life. She retired from many passions, worked as a florist, teacher and bookkeeper. She was passionate during her retirement in the fiber works community, spinning wool and teaching fiber works art. She was the daughter of the late Daniel Carlyle and Gladys Gammel Phelps and wife of the late William McGinley Watson who died in 1955 and Homer Isaac Bland who died in 1965. Surviving are her daughters, Beth Woodson and husband John of Weaverville, Pamela Anne Watson-Walker and husband Joseph Thomas Walker, III of Huntingtown, MD, Linda Bland Moore and husband David John Moore of Arden; son, Carlyle Homer Bland and wife Christina Rae Bauhof of Hampton, VA; granddaughter, Jade Woodson Cress and husband Jeremy. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 26, 2015 in Grace Episcopal Church.
