JAMES DAVID BARRETT WEAVERVILLE/ST. CLOUD, FL - James David Barrett, age 57, of St. Cloud, FL, died August 22, 2014, after a long illness. David was born November 30, 1956 in Buncombe County. He was a 1975 Graduate of North Buncombe High School and served 3 years in the U.S. Army, most of which was in Germany. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert "Bob" Barrett. Surviving are his mother, Lettie Moore Barrett of Weaverville; sister, Lynne Cole and husband Jerry of Charlotte; brother, Charles Barrett and wife Kim of Hixon, TN; and two nieces, Marie Cole and Melissa Weaver. His memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 18, 2014, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Revs. Beverly Brock and Jay Rabuck officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Western Carolina Rescue Ministries, P.O. Box 909, Asheville, NC 28802.
