JAMES A. BEASLEY WEAVERVILLE - James A. Beasley, age 86, of 24 Phipps Street died Sunday, November 10, 2013. Mr. Beasley was born November 10, 1927, in Swain County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of his life. He was a US Navy Veteran, a Mason and retired from the textile industry. James attended Life Enrichment Adult Day Care in Shelby for the past five years. He was the son of the late Zachary and Ferbie Franklin Beasley and husband of the late Margaret Ethel Beasley who died in 1992. Surviving are his daughters, Brenda B. Ray of Fairview and Patricia Ann Long of Shelby; sons, Jimmy Beasley of Swannanoa and Roger Wayne Beasley of Weaverville; sister, Jackie Tarver of Knoxville, Tenn.; brother, Amon Beasley of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Natasha, Amanda, Neisa, Alex, Gemma and Brandon; and great grandchildren, Alexas, Cody and LeAnn. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Worth Emory officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the residence.
