WEAVERVILLE—Jamie Shephard Ball, age 96, of 14 Miles Way, died on Saturday, July 30, 2011.
Mrs. Ball was born Feb. 26, 1915 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. Jamie retired from Mill's Manufacturing and was a member of Piney Mountain Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Allman Shephard, and her husband, Wade Ball, two granddaughters, Shelia Mundy Fox and Sharon Mundy Harwood, brothers, Harry, Alvin and Dennis Shephard and sister, Willie Mae Marshbanks.
Surviving are her daughters, Fredia Harwood and her husband Arnold, Glenda Shook and her husband Bill; son, Hoyt Ball and his wife Myra; sister, Faye Shephard McFarland; grandchildren, Dwight Shook and his wife Barbara, Pam Stewart and her husband Lance, Pressley Ball, Tony Ball and his wife Eliza; great grandchildren, Tonya Ponder, Jill Heim, David Fox, Justin and Brittanie Stewart, Zachary, Paige, Collin and Sidney Shook, Felisha and Savannah Ball, Austin, Cale and Kylee Ball; great great grandchildren, Kevin Davis, Elizabeth Ponder, Madason Heim, Lily Ponder, Gracie and Desiree Ball.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2011, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with the Reverends Gary Haynes, Dean Huggins and Anthony Fox officiating.
Burial will be in Piney Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., prior to the service.
