JANET CLARK BURNETTE WEAVERVILLE – Janet Clark Burnette, age 72 of 11 Webster Street, Weaverville died Wednesday, May 11, 2016. Janet was born August 16, 1943 in Buncombe County to the late Ben H. and Mabel Gillespie Clark. A resident of Buncombe County all of her life she was a lifelong member of Weaverville United Methodist Church. Janet retired from Wachovia bank as Vice-President with over 40 years of service. After retirement she enjoyed the outdoors and the beach. Janet’s family was first and foremost in her life. She is survived by her husband of 54 years Jerry L. Burnette; daughters, Joan Burnette Goode and husband Lane of Charlotte, Jeryl Burnette Sloan and husband Steve of Asheville; grandchildren, Rachel, Dillon and Daniel Goode, Noah, Grace and Luke Sloan. A service celebrating the life of Janet Clark Burnette will be held at 3:30p.m., Sunday, May 15, 2016 in Weaverville United Methodist Church with Reverend Mitch Wilson officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will greet friends at the church fellowship hall following the committal service.
