FAIRVIEW – Janet Smith Queen, age 62, of Fairview died Thursday, September 20, 2018.
Janet was born May 27, 1956 in Buncombe County to the late William Ansel and Elizabeth Tucker Smith; she had resided in Buncombe County all of her life. A graduate of North Buncombe High School; she graduated from A.B. Tech as a dental assistant. Janet loved gardening and all animals; especially her horses. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Queen who died in 2017.
Surviving are her daughter, Lauren Guyton and husband Nathan of Fletcher; son Marc Landon of Denver, Colo.; step-daughters, Suzie Sanders and Becky Ramsey; step-son, Bryan Queen; sister, Margaret Bowen and husband Tim of Knoxville, TN; brothers, Richard Smith and wife Carol of Arden and Tucker Smith and wife Judy of Fairview; grandchildren, Annalise, Carolena, Ella and Bristol.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville.
Her graveside service will be 3:30 p.m., Tuesday at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard in Fletcher.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 24, 2018 at the funeral home.
