Jeannie Louise Blalock

NORTH ASHEVILLE –Jeannie Louise Blalock, age 77, died Friday, July 6, 2018. Jeannie was born January 21, 1941 in Buncombe County to the late Harold Rathburn, Sr. and Luenna Jones Chastain. She was a resident of Buncombe County most of her life. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Sam Blalock, Sr. who died in 2015, and sister, Martha Woods. Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Reynolds and husband Randy; sons, Sammy Blalock, Jr., and Stephen Blalock; brothers, Harold Rathburn, Jr. of GA, Phillip Rathburn of SC, Michael Rathburn of TX, Sammy Rathburn and James Rathburn and sister, Judy Rathburn all of Florida; grandchildren, Crystal Pafford and husband Stephen, Joseph Blalock and fiancé Constanza Hyatt, Cara Shook and husband Drew, Shelby Fagan and husband Josh, and Jordan Briggs; great grandchildren, Cherish Lusk, Autumn Fagan, Caylee Pafford, Keeley Blalock, Logan Briggs, and Gaberial Fagan. Her memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2018 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Pastor Mike Wilson and Reverend Joel Burton will officiate. A private burial will be in Clark’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
