Jerry Lee Ball

WEAVERVILLE – Jerry Lee Ball, 81, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Edward and Edna Ponder Ball.

Jerry was a lifelong member of Locust Grove Baptist Church where he also served as a Deacon. He retired from Blue Ridge Glass in 2009.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Alma Dodd Ball; daughter, Diane George; son, Jeffrey Ball (Lisa); and daughter, Annette Frisby (Robert); six grandchildren, Justin George (Brittany), Whitney Hamlin (James), Elijah Frisby, Canaan Frisby, Natalie Stewart (Justin) and Conner Frisby; and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Rev. Gordon Ball; and a sister, Anita Davie.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Locust Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Brent Snyder and Dr. Walter Ponder officiating. Rev. Gordon Ball will also be officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 15, at Locust Grove Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
