JERRY COLE EVANS WEAVERVILLE – Jerry Cole Evans, age 79, of Weaverville, NC transitioned to his eternal home on Wednesday, February 03, 2016. Mr. Evans was born in North Buncombe County to the late Roscoe and Victoria Cole Evans. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers Reggie Evans, Ray Evans and sister Lois Chandler. Jerry is survived by his wife Stella; son, Blaine Evans of Asheville, NC; and daughter Stephanie Evans of Greenville, SC. He is further survived by his sister Joyce Miller and husband Guy of Wilcox, AZ; sister-in-law Eola Evans; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Jerry lived a full and blessed life. He was a loving husband and father who delighted in serving others, helping friends and family. He was a Master Craftsman, Mechanic, and all around Mr. Fix-It. The odds are pretty high that if you knew Jerry, he helped you fix something at least once. Jerry served in the US Army, was employed by Douglas Aircraft Company and finished off his career in the Engineering Department at Memorial Mission Hospital. A private family interment service was held at Morgan Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at a later date.
