WEAVERVILLE—Jerry Forest Henderson, age 69, of 362 Ox Creek Rd., died Monday, April 8, 2013.
Jerry was born July 16, 1943, in Buncombe County where he lived most of his life. He had a generous giving heart and was a master storyteller with a great sense of humor. Jerry deeply loved his family, his church and farm. He was in the flooring business for most of his life. He was an active member of South Fork Independent Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald P. and Paris Boone Henderson; brother, Bruce H. Henderson; and granddaughter, Breanna Paris Henderson.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Mona Clark Henderson; daughter, Kim Henderson and boyfriend Larry Landon of Asheville; sons, Rev. Clark Henderson and wife Christie of Weaverville, and Chris Henderson and wife Nelly of Swannanoa; sister, Wanda Price and husband Jerry of Travelers Rest, S.C.; grandchildren, Whitney Dopler, Savannah, Dallas, Sean, Calan, and Cailee Henderson, Ryan Landon; Mark Davis whom he loved as his own son; special nieces and nephews, and special neighbors.
His funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2013, at Newbridge Baptist Church with Rev. Don House and son, Rev. Clark Henderson, officiating.
The family will greet friends following the service at the church.
