Jerry Lee Reece

WEAVERVILLE – Jerry Lee Reece, age 64, of Weaverville, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Mission Hospital.  He was born on July 26, 1959, in Buncombe County, where he lived most of his life.  Jerry was the son of the late Bobby Lee Reece and Faye Camby Reece.  In addition to his parents, was also preceded in death by his brother, Terry Reece.

Jerry enjoyed the simple pleasures of country living.  He loved gardening and woodworking, especially building birdhouses.  He was a fan of classic cars and trucks.  Above all, he loved spoiling his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joyce Carter Reece.  He is also survived by his daughter, Selena Reece; his son, Travis Lee Reece and wife Christa; siblings, Linda Lindsey, Brenda Ball, Glenda Delk, and Gary Reece; grandchildren, Austin Harwood, Paige Rector, Carter and Ryan Reece; and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry’s funeral service will be held at 2:30pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at West Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service.  Reverend Ervin Nash and Reverend Dewayne Coffey will officiate.  Interment will follow the service at West Memorial Park.
