JERUTHIE MAE "JERRI" EDWARDS MORGAN
ASHEVILLE - Jeruthie Mae "Jerri" Edwards Morgan, age 84, formerly of 25 Sunset Drive died Thursday, January 8, 2015.
Mrs. Morgan was born July 21, 1930 in Columbus County to the late Albert W. and Susie A. Strickland Edwards. Jerri loved to cook and was a beloved substitute teacher for many years in Buncombe County and Asheville City Schools. She was an accountant and a co-owner of Bump "N" Paint Body Shop. For 53 years she was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Artie L. Moore and brothers, Elijah B., E. Elwood, T. Dempsey and Grover S. Edwards.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, William J. "Bill" Morgan; daughter, Patti Morgan of Weaverville; son, Michael J. Morgan and wife Sharon also of Weaverville; granddaughters, Meredith M. Troughton and husband T.J. and Kaitlin M. Morgan; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend an invitation to her funeral service, which will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2015, in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 201 Mt. Carmel Road, Asheville, NC 28806. Dr. Ronnie Owen will be officiating.
Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 12, 2015 in Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery, Black Mountain.
The family will greet friends following the service at Mt. Carmel in the fellowship hall.
At other times the family will be at the home of Mike and Sharon Morgan.
