WEAVERVILLE—Jettie Lee Gregg, age 92, of Maney Branch Rd., died Wednesday, March 6, 2013.
Mrs. Gregg was born December 15, 1920, in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She formerly worked at Drexel and retired from Square D. She was a member of United Missionary Baptist Church, now Covenant Church of the Highlands. She was preceded in death by her parents, Silvester and Dovie Burrell Hale; sisters, Ruby Harwood and Ossie Burrell; brother, Clarence Hale; and daughter, Marie Bowlin.
Surviving are her daughters, Eula Leighton and Carolyn Gregg of Palm Coast, Fla.; sons, Robert Gregg, James Gregg, Ronnie Gregg and wife Beverly, all of Weaverville; son-in-law, Alton Bowlin of Weaverville; sister, Claire Edmonds of Barnardsville; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2013, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Gary Coates, Rev. Lee Boone and Rev. Timmy Burnette officiating. Burial will be in Maney Branch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
