Jim Benfield

WEAVERVILLE—Jim Benfield, age 70, of 564 Jupiter Road, died Monday, November 17, 2008. Jim was born January 16, 1938 in Connelly Springs. He was a former driver for several local bakeries and formerly worked for Biltmore Dairy Farms. Jim retired as the manager of the ABC Store. He attended Riverside Baptist Church. Jim was the son of the late Charles L. and Cleo Setzer Benfield. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Claudina Benfield and Louise McClure. Surviving are his daughters, Susan Benfield and Jody Benfield; son, Jimmy Grey Benfield; sisters, Joyce Crawford and Betty Pike; brothers, B.E. Benfield and Jerry Benfield; granddaughter, Elizabeth Runyon and great granddaughter, Lily Runyon. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with the Rev. James Briggs officiating. Burial will be in Flint Hill Cemetery.
