JO EDITH DOWDLE BARNARDSVILLE - Jo Edith Dowdle, age 82, of 513 Dillingham Rd. died Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Mrs. Dowdle was born March 8, 1932 in Buncombe County where she lived all of her life and was a member of Carson's Chapel Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Glenn and Ossie Webb Carson and was also preceded in death by her son, John Lee Dowdle who died in 1983. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Raymond Dowdle and a sister, Faye Webb. Her graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 29, 2014, in Williams Branch Cemetery with the Reverend David Crowder officiating. The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Friday at West Funeral Home, Weaverville. At other times the family will be at the residence. Instead of flowers Raymond would appreciate contributions to the funeral home to help with expenses.
