REVEREND JOE HONEYCUTT LEICESTER - Reverend Joe Honeycutt, age 87, of 1424 Alexander Rd. died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 at his residence. Reverend Honeycutt was born July 1, 1926, in Buncombe County to the late Joe Honeycutt, Sr. and Eva Wright Honeycutt. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Joe was a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, pastoring churches in Madison, Buncombe and Haywood counties for more than 55 years. He was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Jean Radford Honeycutt; sons, Rev. Steve Honeycutt and wife Beverly of Leicester and Rodney Honeycutt and wife Kelli of Alexander; grandchildren, Michelle Honeycutt Bradley and husband Chad of Marshall, Patrick, Parker and Chase Honeycutt all of Alexander and great grandchildren, Jocelynn and Alexa Bradley of Marshall. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 11, 2013 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with Reverend Worth Emory officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the residence. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated. The family would like to say a special thanks to CarePartners Hospice and his special caregivers, Denise Deaver, Cindy Fox, Altha Hoyle and Wilma Maxwell.
