WEAVERVILLE– Joey C. Bailey, age 67, of Weaverville died Tuesday, September 18, 2018. Joey was born July 7, 1951 in Buncombe County to the late William Bud and Margie Marler Bailey. He was a retired electrician and an avid hunter who enjoyed cooking, especially smoking and grilling food. Surviving are his wife, Melissa Bell Bailey; daughters, Missy Payne and husband Robbie of Weaverville and Alanna Shell and husband George of Burnsville; son, Brian Bailey of Weaverville; brother, Jimmy Bailey and wife Karen of Fletcher; and four grandchildren. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Rev. Keith Hutchinson will officiate. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Asheville. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the residence. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
