WEAVERVILLE—John David Freeland, Jr., age 56, of Clearview Lane, died Monday, October 8, 2012.
Mr. Freeland was born April 22, 1956, in Buncombe County. He worked at Lowe's Home Improvement as Receiving Manager and was a NASCAR enthusiast. He was a member of Pole Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Rosetta Belle Freeland, and sister, Diane Freeland.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Teri Sweet Freeland; daughter, Cherie Davis and husband Tracy; sisters, Donna Pearson and husband Jerry, Cherie Frisbee, Lisa Wallace and husband Tom; grandson, Logan Eugene who lovingly called him "Pap"; and mother-in-law, Jean Sweet.
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2012, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Dennis Thurman officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Enka.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
