John M. Seaver

ASHEVILLE – John M. “Jack” Seaver, age 69, died Thursday, February 15, 2018. Mr. Seaver was born December 26, 1948 in Detroit Michigan to the late Harrison M. and Ora Little Seaver. From the age of 12, he loved playing the guitar. Jack retired from the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Dept. with whom he served 23 years as a deputy. He enjoyed his time with his students as a D.A.R.E. officer. After his retirement, he worked at Northern Tools. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa “Teri” Seaver. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Brenda Sams Seaver; daughter, Christy Seaver Baker and husband Brett; and 2 grandsons, Noah Ryan Baker and Luke Isaiah Baker. His memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday February 21, 2018 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Rev. Tony Hooper will officiate. Burial will be in West Memorial Park, Weaverville. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday February 20, 2018 at the funeral home.
