Johnny Lee Cogdill

WOODFIN—Johnny Lee Cogdill, age 56, of Lookout Rd., died Wednesday, March 20, 2013. Mr. Cogdill was born May 29, 1956, in Buncombe County where he had lived all his life. He was an expert welder and diesel mechanic working for the State of North Carolina and Vulcan Materials. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. He was a son of the late John L. and Nell Ray Cogdill. Surviving are his daughter, Amy Cogdill and fiance, Justin Williams of Leicester; brother, Michael D. Cogdill of Asheville; grandchildren, Peyton Shuler and Julia Williams. His service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013, in Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Charles Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
