ASHEVILLE—John Paul "Johnny" Freeman died Wednesday, August 27, 2008.
Johnny was born in Evansville, Indiana on March 27, 1956. He grew up in West Asheville, was a scout in Troop 138 at Abernathy United Methodist, attended Enka High School and was a US Army veteran. His mother, Geri Buckner Freeman, and three infant brothers preceded him in death.
He is survived by four brothers; Lanier, James, Charles and his wife, Rebecca and Thomas and his wife, Susan; and one sister; Pat Freeman and her husband Jim Lenburg. Johnny was a loving uncle to: Shannon, Michael, Rachael, Brandon, Josh, Heather, Nicole and Tommy, Jr.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville conducted by his pastor, Rev. Charlie Sams of Starnes Cove Baptist Church and Dr. Jim Lenburg.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be his sister Pat, his brothers; Jimmy, Corky, and Tommy; along with his nephew Brandon and brother-in-law, Jim.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
