LEICESTER– Jordan Hunter McCurry, age 20, of Leicester, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017.
Hunter was born September 19, 1997 in Buncombe County, where he had lived all of his life. He was an intelligent and inquisitive young man who had attended UNCA. Hunter was an avid photographer with plans to return to UNCA to study photo journalism. He enjoyed skateboarding and spending time with his family, friends and his animals. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, and his kind and gentle soul. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Joan Randall McCurry and aunt, Janet McCurry.
Surviving are his parents, Jeff and Vicki Hall McCurry; sister, Alicia McCurry Knight and husband David; maternal grandparents, Robert and Sheila Hall; paternal grandfather Richard McCurry; uncle Paul McCurry; uncle Kenny Hall and wife Diane and their children, Titus and Marcella Hall; several additional family members and all of his friends.
Hunter’s service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Church of the Resurrection, 116 Sweeten Creek Road Asheville, NC 28803, with the Reverend Fr. Christopher E. Newcomb officiating. Private burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Asheville.
The family will greet friends following the service at the church.
