Joseph A. Gantt, age 42, of 550 Blow Hole Road met his sweet Jesus Friday, March 6, 2015.
Joe was born December 3, 1972 in Buncombe County and was a resident of Madison County for most of his life. He worked as foreman over the grounds at the Country Club of Asheville. He enjoyed mowing and weed eating and when he wasn't at work you could find him shooting pool with friends at the Burger Parlor. Joe attended Christian Refuge Church.
Surviving are his wife of twenty-one years, Wanda Norton Gantt; son, William Justin Gantt; mother, Norma Duncan Roberson and husband, George "Steve" Roberson; sister, Jada Gomez and husband Rigo; brother, James Gantt; Wanda's parents, Clifton, Sr. and Shirley Norton; brother-in-law, Clifton Norton and wife Lynn; nieces, Lela Smith and husband Mark, Torie Cutshall and husband D.J., Chelsea Norton and fiancée David, Amanda Gomez, Shana, Brittany and Madison Thomas; nephews, Rigo and Miguel Gomez; great niece, Payton Cutshall; and special friends and co-workers at CCA and a host of loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Mike McGuire officiating. Burial will be in Pegg Cemetery on Frank Rector Road.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
At other times, the family will be at the home of Steve and Norma Roberson, 865 Blow Hole Rd., Marshall, NC.
