WEAVERVILLE—Joseph "Joe" Kennedy, 69, died Monday, July 25, 2011. Joe was born June 29, 1942, in Buncombe County. He was a son of the late Carl and Dessie Evans Kennedy, and was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles "Dickie" Kennedy. Surviving are his sisters, Mary Ruth Blackwell of Weaverville and Margaret Ann Steffenson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. His memorial service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Clark's Chapel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jerry Pearsall officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
