Joseph P. King, age 86 of Weaverville died peacefully Saturday, August 17, 2013 at his home.
Joseph was born July 15, 1927 in Columbia, SC to the late Joseph P. King, Sr. and Priscilla Jeffcoat King. He was a resident of Connecticut and New Jersey before moving to Weaverville, where he had resided for 22 years. A graduate of Columbia University, he worked at Ortho Pharmaceutical, Squibb Pharmaceutical and American Can Floral Products. He was a volunteer at Weaverville Elementary School where he loved tutoring students in math.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Beatrice Rosch King; daughter, Nancy King of Weaverville; sons, Paul D. King of Weaverville and David King of New Milford, CT and grandchildren, Ryan Comer and Lindsey King, to whom he dedicated much love and support.
His memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2013 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville.
