JOSEPH “OTT” MASSEY
WEAVERVILLE–Joseph “Ott” Massey, age 88 of 60 Kennedy Road went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 13, 2017.
Ott was born June 8, 1928 in Madison County and resided in Buncombe County most of his life. Mr. Massey retired from Overnight Transportation. He was a member of Clark's Chapel United Methodist Church. His parents Ottis C. and Lovada Buckner Massey preceded him in death as well as his wife, Ruby Lee Roberts Massey who died in 2008; sisters, Clara Gaddy, Marie Rice, Roxie Lister and Lucy Rice; brothers, Fletcher, J.C., Spencer, Harrison, George Massey and granddaughter Josie.
Surviving are his daughters, Brenda Cole and husband Howard of Weaverville, Debbie Curtis and husband Melvin of Hendersonville and Donna Smith of Weaverville; sons, Ronnie Massey and wife Ann of Hendersonville and Gary Massey and wife Vickie of Weaverville; sisters, Judy Mathis of Hendersonville, Elsie Davis of Alexander; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Revs. Ray Keiss, Roger Massey and Jeff Massey officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
