UPDATED FOR BURIAL INFORMATION
WEAVERVILLE/ IVA, SC - Joshua "Josh" Silvers, age 29, of Iva, SC formerly of Weaverville died Saturday, September 6, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Josh was born February 8, 1985 in Henderson County and had been a resident of Weaverville. He served in the U.S. Army, serving two tours in Iraq and was a Staff Sergeant.
Wife, Michele Dawn Wright Silvers was also in the accident and died a little later.
Surviving are sons, Tyler and Dylan Silvers both of Weaverville; father, Doug Silvers of Weaverville; mother, JoAnn Lunsford and husband James "Corky" Lunsford of Barnardsville; brother, Jason Silvers of Barnardsville and paternal grandmother, Phyliss Burrell of Weaverville.
His burial will take place Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post No. 5483 Mars Hill Memorial Team and the North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard.
