ASHEVILLE – Juanita Parks Cranford, age 93 of Asheville, died Wednesday, February 1, 2017.
Mrs. Cranford was born March 17, 1923 in Wayne County, GA. She was a 1941 graduate of Glynn Academy in Brunswick, GA. She was a devoted wife, a homemaker and a mother to her three children. Her husband, Roy Everett Cranford preceded her in death; as well as her parents, W. Alton and Ethel Mae Wimpy Parks.
Seven years ago, in 2010 she moved to Asheville from St. Augustine, FL where she had resided for more than twenty years. She was a resident of Givens Estate Retirement Community.
Surviving are her daughters, Janna Cranford Dankel and husband John of Asheville, Gail Cranford Gordon of Surrency, GA; son, Roy Everett Cranford, Jr. and wife Judith of Annaplois, MD; grandsons, Robert Pershing and wife Carol of Johnson City, TN, Matthew Cranford and wife Annemarie of Alexandria, VA; and three great grandchildren, Christopher, Sabrina and Anna Pershing of Johnson City, TN.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Givens Estate with Reverend Tammy Bales officiating.
The family will receive friends in the chapel following the service.
Burial will take place Wednesday, February 8, 2017 in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with her husband, a veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict.
