JUANITA ANN PARRIS MANTEL WEAVERVILLE - Juanita Ann Parris Mantel, age 74 of Weaverville died Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at John F. Keever Solace Center. Mrs. Mantel was born January 4, 1941 in Buncombe County where she had lived most of her life. Juanita owned several local businesses and most recently owned and operated The Bake Shoppe. She was a dedicated wife, mother, friend and servant to God. She had been an active member of First Baptist Church, Weaverville since April, 1966. Preceding her in death are her parents, Frank James and Nellie Edna Henderson Parris; special uncle and aunt, James "Nuke" and Jeanette Plemmons. Surviving are her husband Charles Clark; daughters, Debbie Pegg and husband William, Jr., Heidi Bryson and husband Tim; step daughters, Diane Stephenson, Brenda Rice and husband Arnold; son, Herb Mantel and wife Ashley; grandchildren, Bill Pegg III and wife Samantha, Ben and Brian Pegg, Tabatha Casillas and husband Brian, Nicole Bryson, Ryan and Luke Mantel; and special cousin, Jan Plemmons. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2015, in First Baptist Church, Weaverville, with Reverend Jim McCoy officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville.
