Juanita DeWeese Wright

ASHEVILLE - Juanita DeWeese Wright, age 96, of Baird Cove Road died Monday, September 29, 2014. Mrs. Wright was born August 14, 1918 in Buncombe County, where she had lived all of her life. She retired from Square D in 1981 after 20 years of service, and was a member of Newbridge Baptist Church and also attended Pine Burr Park Baptist Church. Juanita was the daughter of the late William A. and Anna Jones DeWeese and wife of the late James Arthur Wright, Sr. who died in 1996. Surviving are her daughters, Patricia and husband Dean Whitener of Hot Springs Village, AR and Nancy Rector of Connelly Springs; sons, James Arthur, Jr. and wife Judith Emory Wright of Allendale, SC and Gerald Wayne and wife Sandra Blankenship Wright of Warner Robbins, GA; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 4, 2014, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Darrell Webb officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
