Kasey James Houston Miller

ASHEVILLE – Kasey James Houston Miller, age 27 of Asheville passed away Friday, September 9, 2022. 

Kasey was born May 31, 1995, in Asheville, North Carolina to Casper and Rebecca Miller.  He was preceded in death by his Papaws, Fred Loftis and E.L. Miller; and his Mamaw, Shirley Loftis. 

In addition to his parents, Kasey is survived by his son, King James Miller (Rosie Mateaki); sisters, Ashley Richards (Jeremiah) and Sydney Matamoros; his Nanny, Marie Miller; nephews, JJ Richards and Christian Matamoros; nieces, Kaitlyn and Adalei Richards and Ava Matamoros; several loving aunts, uncles and cousins, and his best friend in life, Tanner Weatherman.

Kasey had a quick wit and a keen sense of humor that matched his sweet laughter.  He approached playing basketball and baseball with a strong sense of competition. He loved camping and swimming, was always willing to try new things and had an ongoing sense of adventure. Kasey was a man of few words, choosing to show his love, loyalty and friendship through actions and deeds.  He was a beautiful soul who cared deeply for people, and he was deeply loved in return and will be missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2022, at West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts Street, Weaverville. Pastor Eric Dimsdale of Piney Mountain Baptist Church will officiate.
