Keith "Peavey" Tinsley

Keith “Peavey” Tinsley, age 78, of Weaverville, died Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

Keith was born June 8, 1944, in Madison County, North Carolina. He was a resident of Buncombe County since 1965.

He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Vance Masonic Lodge #293 A.F. and A.M.  He enjoyed gun collecting, the outdoors and was a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Atlanta Braves.   Keith retired from M.B. Haynes, where he dearly loved his lineman.  He would want us all to “Keep our powder dry” as we move forward.

Keith was the son of the late Robert Tinsley and Ida Fox Tinsley Ballard.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Brenda Lankford Tinsley; daughters, Teresa Tinsley Shuford (Mark) and Keitha Tinsley Sherrill (Tony); sister, Rosemary Thomas (Lendon); brother, Michael Tinsley (Shirley); grandsons, Taylor Shuford (Dallie) and Dalton Friel (Imani); and great-grandchildren, Zayne and Will. 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, April 7, 2023, at West Funeral Home.
